April - From opening day Trophy Striped Bass season is in full swing with the big Bass feeding to make their migration north to cooler waters. Most of these fish are caught trolling with big tackle and large lures where some can weigh in excess of 50lbs. If you need to catch that trophy striper this month is for you.

May - This is a month of change, the Trophy fish are now on the move and heading north. Depending on the weather the big ones could stay in our area as late as the beginning of June or could leave as early as the second week in May. But right on their tail fins are the smaller chumming striped bass migrating up from the South to spend their summer in the Chesapeake Bay. Along with the smaller striped bass, croakers and trout start to show late in May.

June - This month you can find the 2 lb and larger striped bass swirling in the chum lines on light tackle rods and some trout, croakers and flounder mixing on the bottom during the day. The evening is where the action gets intense with striped bass feeding feverishly before sunset then the croaker action takes over with some of the best fishing in years averaging in size of 2 to 4 lbs. Trout and flounder can also start showing mixed with the croakers. This time of year your bound to fill coolers in the evening.

July - Starts where june left off with the evening fishing in mid-stream and the day fishing for striped bass going strong. As the days heat up the striper action moves to around daybreak and sunset being the cooler times to fish. The fish become a little slower during the high noon hours when the heat is at its peak. But just when you think the fishing will slow down the bluefish begin to show up in the early part of July in scattered numbers usaully small at first then growing as the season continues. About mid-July is when the spanish mackeral start to make there appearance these hot water fast swimming fish from the South like small high speed trolling lures or darting casted plugs to bite.
