Rocky Gorge Reservior - Maryland

Fishing Report - Rocky Gorge Reservior - Maryland - 19/05/2008
Report: We are currently kayak fishing for largemouth and crappie and doing very well. The largemouth are on the spawning beds and respond well to topwater in the first hour of the day. The rest of the day we are casting Sinkos with rattles inserted. Remember, some of the largest females will move to the nearest dropoff adjacent to their beds in bright sun.

Trolling deep diving crankbaits has produced some fish over 5 pounds in the past week. Rocky Gorge and Tridelphia are also producing some slab crappie. We had a few over 15 inches on the last trip. Focus on timber adjacent to dropoffs. You will lose some jigs if you are fishing properly.

Good luck out there and feel free to email me if you want a guided trip. We are focused on trout. bass, and crappie now, but will soon start hitting the big Potomac walleye once the water drops.
