|We welcome all men and women anglers to come and check us out. Our membership is always growing and we are always looking for new members to come join us. We are a Central Florida Bass Club that holds fishing tournaments that are for both boaters and non-boaters. Our focus is to promote the sport of bass fishing and encourage conservation. We are a club that has been around for while and still remembers that fishing is supposed to be fun. Anyone over the age of 18 who wants to join can fish and compete in a club environment on a equal basis whether you own a boat or not. |
The club fishes 14 tournaments per year, three of which are a two single day events during January through November, with the club Classic in December. At each monthly meeting we use a "draw" system of tournament pairings, which means that boaters and non-boaters are paired by a random drawing as there is no team fishing allowed. Total tournament entry fees are $40, which includes big fish entry. Non-boaters are entitled to 50% of the tournament day to fish from the front of the boat, if they so choose. Two anglers may not be paired together in two consecutive tournaments during the year. Boaters may bring along a guest, such as a potential new member or a visiting family member.
The tournaments are held in some of Central Florida's best fishing hatcheries. Lake Toho, Lake Walk in Water, the Butler Chain, and Rodman Reservoir are just some of the great places we visited in the past. These, and the other fine Central Florida lakes we fish, all have the potential for some really large fish to show up at the weigh in.
Our club competes on a individual points basis system that we use to determine year end awards. We believe this is friendlier way than a straight weight-based system, which tends to favor the best anglers among us.
Whether you have ever competed in a bass tournament or not, if you enjoy bass fishing, learning more about it and the friendship of other like-minded folks, the club environment may be something you find immensely enjoyable in a myriad of competitive and social ways.
If your new to the area, or have been here for years and are looking to join a club, come check us out. We hold our monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at Gander Mountain in Lake Mary (Directions are on the Find Us page). We welcome those who share our desire to have fun, catch some bass and strive to be better anglers. If that sounds good to you too, do not hesitate to contact us by going to a meeting or contacting us by email.
All you need to join is a fishing pole and a desire to go fishing!
